Shipper Verification of Carrier Hazardous Material Safety Permit (HMSP)
The Shipper Verification of Carrier Hazardous Material Safety Permit (HMSP) function allows HM
shippers of hazardous materials registered with FMCSA to check the status of a carrier's permit to
transport those materials. The result will indicate whether or not the carrier associated with the USDOT
Number entered by the user has a current active HMSP. This function is only available to hazardous
material shippers that have registered with FMCSA and have a USDOT number and associated Personal
Identification Number (PIN).
